When my daughter was little, she often woke up at night. I had to get up to feed her and cuddle her to get her to fall asleep again. Initially, such impulses did not come easily to me. Over time, however, I started to get used to it and even noticed some advantages - I could observe what was happening in the world when everyone was sound asleep.

I noticed that the lights were on in the windows of a nearby office building until late at night, even though the employees had long gone home - the cleaners were tidying up the offices. That when everyone is resting, watermen are hard at work cleaning the roads on the streets of the empty city. That the neighbor is sitting at his desk and writing something. That a mouse ran across the lawn. And that already at five o'clock the first cars loaded with fresh bread arrive at the local shops. In short, I realized that the night hides many secrets that I would never have discovered if I had not had to get up to see my daughter.
