La Themis was the name of the ship that carried Louis Maria back to France after 10 years of exile in Madagascar in 1802. Inspired by a long journey, the fragrance begins with an accord of fresh green leaves with a hint of eucalyptus and quickly turns into a dominant Mint main theme. Spearmint's character is supported by Wintergreen's note. The fragrance dries to a sweet accord of tonka bean.

Maison Louis Marie is the result of a long, rich family history of fragrances, starting with Louis Marie Aubert du Petit Thouars: a pioneer of French botanical history who was exiled to Madagascar, La Réunion and the islands of Mauritius during the French Revolution. There he discovered a wide variety of plant specimens, collected more than 2,000, and was subsequently elected a member of the prestigious Académie des Sciences - the engravings and sketches seen on fragrance packaging come from his journals.

More than 200 years later, Maison Louis Marie was born: drawing on her family's rich botanical history as inspiration and guide, Marie created luxury candles, perfumes and skincare products that focus on exquisite, long-lasting fragrances infused with unique floral essences.
