Illustrated inventory of animals   contains descriptions and images of 95 animals from around the world.

Emmanuelle Tchoukriel, an illustrator specializing in the preparation of scientific figures, portrayed animals with precision and artistry worthy of naturalists of the past centuries. Before photography was invented around 1830, naturalists drew dead or stuffed animals, their talent making them "come to life" on paper. Emmanuelle Tchoukriel created the engravings for this book by observing live animals and studying numerous photographs.

She made the black contours of the drawings with a rapidograph and Chinese ink. For coloring, she used watercolors, which when applied with varying intensity, perfectly reflect the richness of shades and textures found in nature.

Each figure has a Polish and Latin name and a few interesting facts about the animal.
