A classic of fairy tales from the cult series of spatial books designed by the master of the genre, the famous Czech artist - Vojtěch Kubašta.  

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Vojtěch Kubašta was born in Vienna in 1914, the son of a Czech bank clerk. After the resurgence of Czech statehood, his entire family returned to Prague. In 1938 he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University. From an early age, he had an exceptionally well-developed spatial imagination, which he used to create his unique three-dimensional books.

Kubašta's talent was appreciated by Disney, which entrusted him with designing pop-ups in the 1960s. Due to the contract requirements, Kubašta wrote books for Disney anonymously, hence his name is not mentioned on the covers of many pop-ups published at the time. In the course of cooperation with Disney, i.a. such spatial books as: "101 Dalmatians", "Bambi", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Mickey Mouse" and "The Jungle Book".

Although Kubašta was an outstanding artist in his field, during the communist regime he was treated in Czechoslovakia as persona non grata. The authorities tried to hide his talent from the world, but due to the foreign currency earnings so valuable to the communists, he was allowed to continue his work. Vojtech Kubašta has been very active throughout his life, he has created over 200 books that have been translated into nearly 40 languages. His innovative pop-ups continue to inspire paper architects around the world to this day.
