- No - says Hansel. - I don't like tea.

- Oh! - Janeczka is dissatisfied. - You never say that. The gentleman sits down politely and drinks tea.

- I don't want to be the master - says Hansel.

Do you know them? Here is Hansel and Janeczka - a pair of inseparable friends. They are curious, have crazy ideas and lots of adventures. They play, make trouble and discover the world together.
The stories about their everyday adventures, written in simple language, are a classic of Dutch children's literature. Now we present them to Polish readers in a new translation.

The adventures of Hansel and Janeczka were published in episodes in the Dutch daily "Het Parool" in the years 1952–1957. They were later compiled into a 5-volume book series and have been published in many languages. The first Polish edition was entitled "Julek i Julka".
