GOOtensils™ first spoons

NumNum GOOtensil™ is an introductory spoon that is the first step to helping your little ones eat independently. Unlike a traditional spoon, the GOOtensil™ head is flat, which means we do not impose any rules on the child!

Characteristics:

The initial stage one spoon has special recesses that retain enough food to give the child the feeling of self-feeding.

The textured surface of the spoon relieves gum pain associated with teething. They can also be cooled in the freezer, which enhances the effect.

The thicker handle has been designed so that the child can use the spoon comfortably and safely

The flat design makes GOOTensil easier to use than a traditional spoon. There is no wrong way to hold it.

The GOOtensil Stage Two Introductory Spoon has a hole in the head which, using surface tension, scoops up and retains food until the child takes it out.

When to start using:

To use GOOtensils NumNum introduction spoons fully safely, your child must already be able to sit independently and hold his or her head steadily. Once these conditions are met, experts recommend introducing a spoon as soon as the baby shows interest. This can happen as early as 6 months of age, but most babies are fully ready for cutlery between 10 and 14 months of age.

Ideal food:

GOOtensil is suitable for products such as blended baby meals, homemade purees, oatmeal, yogurt and mousses.

How to use:

First, introduce an introductory spoon level 1, which will help relieve the pain in the gums associated with teething, and will also help your child get used to holding cutlery. Once the child has learned the basic feed-to-mouth movement, you can introduce Level 2, which holds a larger amount of the product, and use it alternately, for example for thicker foods.

When to switch to a traditional spoon:

Most children do not develop the ability to fully rotate the wrist until the end of the second year. If a parent notices that the child is starting to pick up food from the bottom of the bowl or is trying to balance more food on the spoon, this is a clear signal for changes. In this way, the child shows that he is ready to switch to a traditional spoon.
