For the first time   Primer   appeared in 1910 with illustrations by Jan Rembowski. With slight modifications, it served in Polish schools until 1974, when the PZWS published its last version, beautifully illustrated by Janusz Grabiański. It is the longest-functioning primer in the world.
 
The book has been carefully recreated, following the example of the edition preserved in the memory of many generations of Poles.
