The father of almost eleven-year-old Ania and six-year-old Kicia is going to Australia on business for six months. The girls have to live with their great aunt in London. They had never been away from their dad for so long before. They had never stayed in an unfamiliar house for so long. Will they find a common language with grandma? How will they cope with missing their dad? What awaits them in a strange place?

Fortunately, the girls' fears turn out to be unfounded. The time spent at Grandma Zofia's, who runs the titular confectionery shop, will remain in their memory forever.
